Stalagmite
Stalagmites are rock formations that come up from the floor of caves because of the accumulation of materials dripping from the ceiling. They may be comprised of lava, sand, minerals, and even crystallized urine from rats. The largest known stalagmite is 230 feet tall.
FUN TIP: To tell the difference between stalagmites and stalactites, remember that stalagmites has a G for “ground” and stalactites has a C for “ceiling.”
