Soft white stilbite and mint green apophyllite sit within a myriad of peach heulandite crystals.
Apophyllite is found all over the world in volcanic zeolite environments, most notably in India. It most often forms with other zeolites (minerals that create pale crystals that are soft and easily crushed and steam when heated) like heulandite and can occur in colors like green, brown, gray or colorless.
Its name derives from the Greek terms apo, meaning "to be of," and phyllos, meaning "leaf" as this mineral is known to flake like a leaf when it is heated.
